The main profile of our Research Center is the analysis of the concentration, distribution and biological effects of agricultural pollutants in the environment, including the related risks and hazards. Consequently, the Research Center consists of two departments, the Department of Environmental Analysis and the Department of Ecotoxicology. For environmental analysis, the group maintains analitical and immunoanalitical laboratories. Ecotoxicological evaluations are based on related OECD standards and on self-developed biotest methods. Our center actively participates in national and international research projects as partner or leading partner. Our research generally focuses on the following topics: the analysis and identification of previously unknown side-effects of agricultural substances and materials previously considered as inert; identification of modified occurrence of specific pollutants affected climate change; instrumental and methodological advancements related to environmental safety; the support and promotion of environmentally sound agricultural practices; the creation of related educational materials.
