Research goals related to agricultural water management:

  • Research to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change.
  • Investigation of adaptation possibilities to extreme water management situations (floods, droughts).
  • Analysis and foundation research on the current state and development opportunities of irrigation in Hungary.
  • Comprehensive research on flood management, including vulnerability assessment and alternative land use development.
  • GIS-based mapping and photogrammetric analyses.
  • Research on the environmental, conservation, and socio-economic role of agricultural water management.
  • Comprehensive assessment of positive and negative external impacts of agricultural water management.
  • Research on the relationship between EU VKI and agricultural water management.
  • Exploration of the role of agricultural water management in maintaining aquatic habitats in connection with ecosystem services.
  • Determination of possibilities for agricultural water use.
  • Remote sensing data collection with drone technology for assessing the hydrological status of the soil-plant system.
  • Quality analysis of excess water on agricultural fields (nutrients, pollutants, pesticide residues) and exploration of utilization possibilities.

Tasks:
