Responsibilities:

• Promoting the use of environmentally friendly irrigation technologies.
• Studying the material flow of the soil-plant-water system and the uptake of nutrients.
• Maintenance breeding and seed production of nationally recognized rice varieties.
• Breeding of new rice varieties.
• Development of rice agro-technology.
• Preservation and examination of the rice variety collection.

Participation in the following areas:

• Development of regional and rural development programs.
• Preparation of studies and technological plans.
• Consultation, demonstration, and reference activities.
• Expert work in the preparation and implementation of domestic and international development programs.
• Specialized middle and higher education, postgraduate training.
• Organization and conduct of domestic and international professional development courses.
• Organization and conduct of professional events.
