Department of Waste Management Outreach
The Department of Waste Management Outreach undertakes crucial educational, research, and technical development tasks in the fields of waste processing, composting, and waste management. The department carries out its educational responsibilities at the Szent István Campus and within the institute, primarily within the Waste Management and Utilization specialization and engineering training. Practical training, demonstration, and development tasks are performed at the Gödöllő Innovation and Industrial Park, at the site of Profikomp Innovation, Training, and Demonstration Center Ltd. Beyond educational tasks, this site also accommodates internal collaborations and research activities of the institute. These activities include, among others, the development of advanced composting technology for waste materials, performance of related laboratory tasks, detection of odorants from the air using certified methods, monitoring the appearance of certain pollutants (e.g., mycotoxins), maintenance and treatment of plant and biological samples under controlled conditions (phytotron), and the breeding and utilization of insect species applicable in waste management and feeding.
